Description | The Eleventh Ohio, a regimental newspaper, emerged in Point Pleasant during the winter of 1861-1862, offering soldiers of the 11th Ohio Infantry a glimpse of news and entertainment. Edited and printed by Corporal Charles Wright, along with Privates Hiram Howard and Henry Lambright, the paper captured local sentiments, soldier experiences, and military updates. Though short-lived, it provided a vital link to the outside world during their stay. Following the regiment's departure, Private Elijah H. Ever continued the publication, tailoring it to Company F's interests under the name Piqua Invincible, yet no surviving copies are known to exist. NDLI hosts contents from/of year 1862 of this newspaper. |
