| Abstract | AAA stands for Authorization, Authentication and Auditing. It is a service that protect calls between various services inside Amazon. A service has operations and it may want to protect calls to some of these operations. This where AAA steps in. A service, which has its operations exposed, registers itself as an application with AAA. A client, who wants access to some of these operations, also registers itself as an application with AAA. The client application then requests for a relationship with the AAA-enabled service for these operations. AAA gives the service application and the client application a key with which they can communicate with each other. My first project involved improving Relationship Change History. Relationship Change History is a table on the relationship page which shows the relationship changes between a service and a client. This table only showed changes in the past 3 months and did not give enough data on what the change was about. I worked on improving this table and display more data like – the change type, the user who approved the change, and the ticket number associated with the change. My second project involved self-servicing of adding Additional Information Questions to an application by a service-owner. Additional Information is way of storing extra configuration information in a relationship. This information can be read by a service and can be used by the service to provide finer access control. To get this information, the service owner asks some questions, called the Additional Information Questions, of a client. The answers to these questions is stored in the relationship between the service and the client as Additional Information. Earlier, the Additional Information Questions were added by the AAA team for some service application when requested the service owner. My project made this addition of Additional Information Questions as a self-service feature which the service owners could use through the Additional Information wizard. |
