Abstract | The report talks in detail about the work done during the internship at Amazon as an external BTP. There were 2 di fferent projects that were assigned over the course of 6 months. The first 2 weeks of the internship involved understanding the main tools and technologies and development practices followed at Amazon as a part of the SDE Bootcamp. The fi rst project assigned after this was Batch Submission Module. Using this system, batches of any size could be submitted in the existing team components. This system was designed using a combination of Redis and Dynamo DB. The project was later deprioritised. The main project assigned over the duration of the internship was Web Tra ffic Limit Service. This involved creating a system to keep track of the number of requests that were being made by the team components outside the Amazon network. This count was maintained in an RDBMS table on MySQL and the values were updated periodically by a daemon thread that retrieved data emitted in log les from across multiple hosts using Amazon's internal services. This system gives an almost real time count and is used to prevent business analysts from over submitting batches. This was tested and pushed into production in July. |
