Description | Four-panel comic strip showing Pete, an old bearded prospector, loading up Sal his burro and trekking through the snow on snowshoes, worrying about the whereabouts of his young friend Kid Sid who has no snowshoes. When the snow lets up, he finds himself in a valley, barren of trees, but finds one firbush to camp under. During the night the warm Chinook wind begins to blow. The strip, published in the Newark Evening News from Mar. 29-Oct. 2, 1926, was based on the cartoonist's experiences prospecting in the Klondike. |
