Abstract	The last decades have been characterized by trade liberalization, mainly based on the reduction of tariffs. However, at the same time there has been an increase of nontariff barriers. In this context, the agricultural sector has been particularly discussed, primarily in regard to sanitary barriers. It has also sought to differentiate the impacts of non-tariff barriers by level of economic and technical development of countries. The overall goal of this work is to summarize through a literature review the main results of the researches indicated, with special attention to the impact of non-tariff barriers on agricultural trade in developing countries.
