| Abstract | The objective of this research is to explain the relevance of the use of Blockchain technology in trade finance to 6roblema6 financing gap between 6robl and SMEs in developing economies. These SMEs face more obstacles to the implementation of Blockchain initiatives 6ro their counterparts in industrialized countries. The research focused on the role of Blockchain technology in international trade to overcome economic, sociopolitical and cognitive barriers, which are identified as key obstacles in the financing of SMEs in developing countries. The focus of the research was qualitative. We conducted three in-depth interviews with Technology CEOs from 3 of the largest banks in the United States. We conclude that the biggest obstacle to promoting the implementation of Blockchain technology is the lack of regulation, since it is necessary to solve the 6roblema of legal standardization that mitigates information security gaps. Thus, how to overcome the barriers of community building and resistance to change in business practices of SMEs to achieve a massive adoption of technology. |
