| Abstract | As percepcoes dos alunos acerca dos esforcos de melhoria sao um indicador importante para a monitorizacao do processo de melhoria e de eficacia da escola. O objectivo deste estudo foi avaliar as caracteristicas psicometricas da versao portuguesa do Survey of Student Conditions on School Improvement (Beresford, 2000), o Inventario das Condicoes dos Alunos para a Melhoria da Escola (ICAME). Participaram neste estudo 1003 alunos de escolas Portuguesas. As analises confirmatorias revelam bons indices de ajustamento para o modelo de 3 factores. As 3 escalas apresentam valores de consistencia interna superiores a .76. Os resultados deste estudo sugerem que a versao Portuguesa do SSCSI e um instrumento com caracteristicas psicometricas adequadas para a avaliacao das percepcoes dos alunos acerca dos esforcos de melhoria. The Students’ perceptions on school improvement efforts are important indicators for school improvement and school efficacy. The objective of this study was to evaluate the psychometrics of the Portuguese version of the Survey of Student Conditions on School Improvement (Beresford, 2000). Participated in this study 1003 Portuguese students. Confirmatory Factor Analyses revealed good adjustment indices for a 3 factors model. The 3 scales registered good internal consistency, with values above .76. These results suggest that the Portuguese version of the Survey of Student Conditions on School Improvement presents acceptable psychometric properties for being used in the assessment of the students’ perceptions about school improvement efforts. Las percepciones de los estudiantes sobre los esfuerzos de mejora son un indicador importante para el proceso de mejora y de eficacia escolares. El objetivo de este estudio fue adaptar y evaluar las propiedades psicometricas de la version portuguesa del Survey of Student Conditions on School Improvement (Beresford, 2000). 1003 estudiantes Portugueses participaran en este estudio. Los analisis factoriales confirmatorios rebelaron un buen ajuste para el modelo de tres factores. Las 3 escalas registraran buena consistencia interna con valores por encima de .76. Estos resultados sugieren que la version Portuguesa del Survey of Student Conditions on School Improvement presenta propiedades psicometricas aceptables para la evaluacion de las percepciones de los estudiantes sobre los esfuerzos de mejora de la escuela.
