| Abstract | Le present article traite de l’analyse economique de la filiere sucriere au Maroc et ce a travers le calcul de la matrice des analyses des politiques, des Coefficients de Protection Nominale (CPN) et Effective (CPE) et du Cout des Ressources Interieures (CRI). L’evolution des deux premiers coefficients montre que les differents segments de la filiere ne beneficient pas du meme niveau de protection. Si le segment de production de la betterave sucriere ne beneficie plus d’aucune protection, le sucre brut reste globalement protege. Ce qui signifie que l’essentiel de la protection du sucre au Maroc se situe au niveau du segment de la transformation. Cependant, le niveau de celle-ci a globalement baisse pendant la periode post ajustement structurel. Sur le plan competitivite, alors que la culture de la betterave sucriere s’avere devenue competitive, la competitivite effective du segment industriel, et compte tenu des distorsions importantes sur le marche mondial, est difficile a evaluer. Abstract This article discusses the economics of the sugar industry in Morocco through the policy matrix analysis, Nominal Protection Coefficient (NPC) and Effective (CPE) and Internal Resource Cost (CRI). The evolution of the first two coefficients shows that the various segments of the sector do not have the same level of protection. If the production of sugar beet segment no longer enjoy any protection, raw sugar remains protected. This means that the bulk of Morocco sugar protection is at the segment level of processing. However, the level of the latter fell overall during the post structural adjustment. On the competitive level, while the cultivation of sugar beet has become competitive, the effective competitiveness of the industrial segment, and given the significant distortions in the world market, is difficult to assess.
