| Abstract | This research tries to show the relationship between two broad and difficult subjects rural development and biopolitics starting from some interviews with agents, acting in the techno scientific field linked to the rural science area in southern Brazil, the extension workers, researchers and professors. Both subjects, rural development and biopolitics are linked more by inclusion than exclusion of many concept sets and society proposals. To give support to this relationship, the theoretical analytical basics of the language method was used, in the simplest form: the constant repetitions of key words from the agents in their explanations concerning the present state of the rural development debate. This reference helps to support the conception of a coherent individual, conscious of his speach, and to show the maintenance or modifications of myths and beliefs in the rural Brazil. By the other side the study of rural develoment could not only be done at a speech level. Its formulation is composed by perception, apreciation and action under structured conditions of the techno-scientific field. The articulation of two Bourdian concepts (habitus and field) was fundamental to the proposal of this research even without reaching deep in all analytical possibilities. Even with the polemic aspect concerning rural development, subject to many interpretations, some ideas are constantly present – indicating the possibility of using the Foucaultian idea of biopolitics. By his way, rural development or development in general can be understood and analyzed under the point of view of a set of rules from the government upon the production of life and its effects of power. The theoretical option of this research was to verify the constant repetitions of key words from the agents in their speach during the interviews – presenting more correspondances than divergences. The constant presence of some key terms also points to a conflict, showing a constant rupture with former definitions of development, changes and negations of conceptual and ideological relationships. |
