| Abstract | Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a bacteria that is frequently detected in nosocomial infections at the hospital. Medical workers and people who come to hospital are susceptible for nosocomial infections. As the incidence of Pseudomonas infection increases, more antibiotics are being used for treatment hence the bacteria develops more resistance towards the antibiotics. The aim of the study is to determine the pattern of sensitivity of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. To towards some antibiotics in Haji Adam Malik general hospital. The research was conducted using the analytical method to obtain isolate from data in clinical Microbiology Laboratory at the hospital obtained Haji Adam Malik by using the Vitek 2 Compactthus producing a total of 427 isolate were by total sampling. Data were analyzed using SPSS Chi -Square test and presented in tables and graphs. Based on the result researcher, concluded that in the years 2012 between period from January-December, there was an increase and a decrease in antibiotics sensitivity. The activity of was excellent the against antibiotics colistin during the period from January -Juny by 66% and during July -December period there was an increased by 88,5%. Other antibiotics such as imipenem, levofloxacin, ciprofloxacin, piperacillin/tazobac tam and ceftazidime also had increased sensitivity. While there is a decrease in the sensitivity of Pseudomonas towards some antibiotics such us gentamicin, tobramycin, meropenem, cefepime, amikacin, cefotaxime, tigesiklin, amoxicillin and trimethoprim sul fametoxazole. The Pseudomonas resistance level is greatest ampicillin (99,2% to 100%). The study found a significant increase in sensitivity of Pseudomonas towards antibiotics colistin and imipenem with p value <0,05. |
