| Abstract | Recent advances in technology have now made microwave energy a more efficient means of heating reactions. A series of 4-(5-(substituted phenyl)-1, 3, 4-oxadiazol-2-yl) pyridine 1a-j have been synthesized under microwave irradiation method by the condensation of isonicotinohydrazide with appropriate aromatic acids and phosphorous oxychloride. Structures of these synthesized compounds were supported by means of IR. H NMR and Mass spectroscopy. Compounds were evaluated for their anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antimicrobial activities. Some of the compounds were found to have significant anti-inflammatory and analgesic activities, while a few compounds showed appreciable. |
