| Abstract | In Colombia, many factors contribute in one way or another to the fact that students of technical training have shortcomings to argue. Among them are the lag in feedback, the fear of participating or the paradigm of the lone participant (Anderson and Jackson, 2000). Its low results in this regard, evident in the evaluations made by teachers, show that the shortcomings in terms of argumentative skills will have negative consequences in higher education or in other areas where they work. Consequently, teaching how to argue properly would allow students of any educational level to understand and produce argumentative texts, as can be seen in the methodological proposal of Baquero et al. (1994), which consists of a reading / writing instrument followed by a series of guidelines through which the student learns reading materials and thus produces quality argumentative essays (Baquero et al., 1994, page 100). To achieve this, various solutions have been proposed both in the classroom and in scenarios related to Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). Researchers of education and theories of learning have argued that collaborative learning, implemented in an OVA, can yield positive results in the learning of argumentation, taking into account the quality of the interaction, the phases of the argumentative process and the formal structure of the arguments. The present document reflects on whether collaborative learning supported in an OVA can be a tool to improve argumentative skills. |
