Abstract	Resumo \| Portugal e uma das nacoes mais antigas do mundo e onde varios povos deixaram a sua marca, possuindo um vasto e riquissimo patrimonio cultural. O usufruto e valorizacao deste patrimonio passam inegavelmente pelo turismo. Do mesmo modo, o turismo nao podera existir se nao se preservarem os recursos de que a sua propria pratica depende. Requer-se, igualmente, a criacao de uma oferta turistica compativel com cada contexto cultural, permitindo o acesso do turismo a expressoes culturais, evitando-se, porem, o seu “embelezamento” para fins turisticos ou uma “turistificacao da cultura”, descaracterizando-as ao ponto de deixarem de ser representativas da sua propria cultura. A Gastronomia Tradicional e sem duvida um dos principais expoentes da Cultura Portuguesa, cuja diversidade constitui um recurso muito valorizado pelos turistas que visitam o nosso pais. Esta abundância culinaria e ainda mais visivel quando se entra no dominio da docaria, em particular a conventual, aquela que se podera dizer ter sido a “mae” da docaria popular, regional e ate, caseira. Pelas suas vastas potencialidades, este e somente um dos muitos atractivos portugueses que podem ser recuperados e divulgados atraves do turismo, proporcionando mais-valias, nao so ao visitante, mas tambem, as comunidades locais, desde que explorado de forma racional e sustentavel. Abstract \| Portugal is one of the world’s oldest nations, where several people have left their mark, possessing a vast and magnificent cultural heritage. The fruition and valorisation of this heritage relies, undeniably, on tourism, as well as tourism can not exist without these resources, in which it depends on. Thus, the touristic supply must be compatible with each cultural context, allowing the access of tourism to different cultural expressions, but also preventing its standardization or embellishment for touristic ends, in such a way that they are no longer representative of their own culture. The diversity of Portuguese Traditional Cuisine is one of the most valued resources by those who visit our country. This variety is even more perceivable in the sweets’ domain, in particular those which born in a conventual context, guaranteeing the foundations for popular, local and homemade sweets. With great potentialities, these dainties can be re-valued and divulged by tourism, providing surplus values, not only for visitors, but also for local communities, when explored in a conscious and sustainable way.
