| Abstract | The importance of the tourism sector it’s unquestionable to a country’s economy and promotion. There was a project called Ciclo de Debates em Turismo (“Tourism debate’s cycle”), inside another initiative designation which is “Conversas à Mesa” (“Table Talks”), promoted by postgraduate studies in touristic and hotel industry management, context impelled by ESEC and EHTC, that emerged under the mission of providing “intimate” contact between the general participants and tourism projects, through a dynamic and reflective simple conversation among a kind of coworkers group. More than just a conversation, this initiative proved to be a true challenge, allowing forceful dynamics that compelled into experiences exchange for opposition to the of this kind of debates reality. There was also a major concern in transmitting to the supply and demand drivers that they need to “think outside the box” or in tourism sector case to “think like there is no box”, that is without restrictions and boundaries, providing new market niches, considering witch region’s identified strategies. At the same time to crimp the incoming issue, through the communication, promotion and commodify importance of the region’s touristic products, lastly an attempt to try to define “who searches for what?” or “how to provide that?” through a tourist profiling. It’s also a matter of notice that the main focus was the Centro de Portugal Region by the exposure of its companies and businesses performance into a national and international scale. Furthermore by the speaker’s testimonies it was possible to clarify the law-making insufficiency in to a strategic planning point a view allowing the acceptance of “bottom-up” inputs in parallel with the “top-down” pretensions, one of the most identified gaps in all tourism cycle debates. That acceptance may allow a bigger flow to the correct touristic systems and its market policies.
