| Abstract | The teaching and learning of French in Asia is not new. In Thailand eventhough French is not the first language that one learns, it remains a language thatone can learn from high school. Unfortunately, in recent years there has been adecline in the number of students. In this article, rather than alarming us bythese figures, we wish to show that there are solutions to this problem. Some ofthese solutions are already taking place and have been proved valuable, andothers deserve to be developed.
