| Abstract | espanolEn los ultimos anos, lejos de menguar el flujo de inmigrantes escolares en nuestras fronteras, segun datos oficiales, se ha producido un gran aumento cuya tendencia no parece cambiar a corto plazo. No cabe duda alguna de que instituciones de diverso ambito, a saber, europeo, espanol y regional, han puesto empeno en activar medidas para la integracion de los inmigrantes no hispanohablantes por medio de la ensenanza de la lengua espanola en centros escolares; sin embargo, no parecen sufi cientes, a la luz de las pruebas PISA. A continuacion, se presenta el analisis critico del Programa de Inmersion Linguistica elaborado por el Departamento de Educacion del Gobierno de Navarra. Para ello, se hace necesario estudiar la situacion demografica de los extranjeros no hispanohablantes en Espana y, concretamente, en Navarra. Igualmente, para proponer una mejora ha sido necesario revisar la legislacion vigente en materia educativa y de inmigracion. EnglishIn the last years, far from witnessing a decrease in immigrant scholars within our borders, according to official information, an increase has been produced that it does not seem likely to change in the near future. There is no doubt that institutions from different scopes (European, Spanish or regional, for example) have put every effort into activating measures to integrate non Spanish-speaking immigrants via the teaching of Spanish in scholastic centres. However, in light of the PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) tests, this does not seem to be enough. In the following paper, a critical analysis of the Language Immersion Programme designed by the Department of Education of the Government of Navarre (Spain) is presented. For this purpose, it was crucial to study the demographic situation of the non Spanishspeaking residents in Spain and in Navarre specifi cally. In addition, it was necessary to revise the current legislation with regard to Education and Immigration so as to propose an improvement of the Programme. |
