| Abstract | The sensor-based probe traps (SPT) for momtormg storedproduct msects were developed m 1991 m our laboratory. The application of the patent for mvention was announced by the Patent Office of the People's Republic of Chma (POPRC) m October 1992, and the patent nght was granted by the POPRC m May 1994. The number of the patent IS ZL92102125 .9. The SPT compnses the probe trap, the separator of msects and impurities (debris, dusts and broken gram particles) and sensor head When the SPT IS placed m the gram at certam depth, the stored-product msects will crawl or fall into the trap through slopmg, escape-proof holes, and some impunties also fall mto the trap. The msects are separated from impunties by a separator, and then fall mto the passage of sensor head Pulse SIgnals will be generated and transmitted to computer control system when the insects fall through the sensor head The design of the sensor head takes many appropnate measures: Piezoelectric sensor head (A type) or Infrared beam sensor heads (B type) The research objectives were (1) to determme the factors for producing impun ties m probe trap samples when the SPT is at rest m gram mass. Analyzed; ( 2) to determme the efficiency of the separator m separatmg stored-product msects from impurities, (3) To determme the accuracy of SPT A type m countmg stored-product insects: (4) Evaluate the unit for automatic momtonng msects m grain; (5) and test the umt for remote momtonng system of stored-product insects and grain temperature |
