| Abstract | The National University of Loja by a traning proposal is based on their direct participation in regional and national de velopment through the generation of new knowledge from the scientific and technological research, which is one of its main functions, as well as direct involvement with the community The kidney’s role is the vital-basic work that every organism requires, but when kidneys stop doing this process normally, the blood values of certain parameters suffer alterations.Diabetes is a public health problem all over the world. And the hospital of Vilcabamba, the number of diabetes patients that demand medical assistance has increased remarkably. That is why the objective of this research work is to establish the existing relationship between the altered values of urea and creatinine with the glucose levels of the diabetic patients that go to the hospital of Vilcabamba. It is the kind of transversal descriptive due to the analysis of the different samples of urea, creatinine, and glucose which was done in a certain period of time. It was done with the purpose of motivating the patients to get regular tests in order to prevent precocious diagnosis and on time. A population of 69 patients was considered; most of them belonged to the feminine sex with 51 women corresponding to the 74%, and to the masculine sex with 18 men corresponding to the 26%. The analysis of results from reference values of Urea, Creatinine and Glucose was performed by applying the HUMAN; it provided us the means and frequency of each parameter. When doing the urea tests, it was proved that 15% of patients presented high values (>50mg/dl), the 16% presented had values >1.2 mg/dlthe creatinine. On the other hand, 100% of the population presented increased values of glucose. Finally, the obtained results were given to the patients that took part in this research work. Key Words: Urea, Creatinine, Glucose, and Diabetes. |
