| Abstract | Lung cancer is one of the cancer disease with highest incidence in the world. Cancer diagnose is one of the stressor that could trigger the mentality imbalance, where cancer treatment such as chemotherapy also one of the stressor. This research was meant to know the characteristic of depression state on lung cancer patients that undergo chemotherapy in RSUP H.Adam Malik Medan. This research design is Descriptive research, the sample are 60 lung cancer patients that been hospitalized or not, that undergo chemotherapy between SeptemberOctober. The sample that been asked and signed the informed consent will be interviewed with Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) to measure the depression state, then the data will be anayzed with descriptive analyze. In this research, there are 21 patients(35%) that didnt have any depression, Depresi Ringan with 15 patients(25%), depresi sedang with 17 patients(28,3%), and depresi berat with 7 patients(11,7%). While the most respondence with the moderate depression characteristic is: NSCLC adenocarcinoma type lung cancer, that undergo Paklitaksel+Karboplatin chemoteraphy treament, on 4th cycle. From this research, we can conclude that the most depression state on lung cancer patients that undergo chemotherapy treatment in RSUP H.Adam Malik Medan is Moderate depression. |
