| Abstract | The Initial Education of Mathematics Teachers has been a recurring subject of debate in our country for over a century. As a result of the trend to convergence in Europe that was initiated with the Bologna agreements, there has now begun a review process of university degrees. In this context, the CRUE (Conference of Spain's University Chancellors) has carried out a proposal for the bachelor's degree in Mathematics that includes a specific course itinerary for future teachers of Secondary Education Mathematics. The work that we present here was performed within the ambit of the Extremadura Autonomous Community, with the aim of contributing to that debate. Thus, we deemed it important to determine directly teachers' opinions on the deficiencies ** of how the current Teacher Education System prepares the prospective teacher to give classes to students at all levels of Secondary Education and in all types of educational centres. |
