| Abstract | This cross-sectional correlational study in a population living in the cities of Bogota, Barranquilla, and Ibague (Colombia), had the objective of assessing the existence of predictive relationship between the risk of eating disorders, body image satisfaction, coping strategies, optimism or pessimism, and acceptance of cosmetic plastic surgery. Results were analyzed using structural equations. Conclusion: concerns about the amount of calories in food, obsessive preoccupation with food, coping focused on the search for social support, age, bulimia, avoidance-focused coping, and dispositional optimism, predict acceptance of cosmetic plastic surgery. |
