Abstract	In order to evaluate the predatory ability of the ant-complex Solenopsis geminata (F.), Dorymyrmex sp., Pheidole sp. and Mycocepurus smithii Forel (Hymenoptera: Formicidae), which are found in the solar parabolic coffee dryers, a study in the Experimental Station La Catalina (Pereira, Colombia) was carried out. Eighteen dryers of 8m 2 were used to evaluate the treatments: (T1) a solar dryer with both extremes and lateral sides covered by a muslin of 1 x 2mm, (T2) a solar dryer with its extremes covered by a plastic material and its lateral sides covered with muslin, respectively, and (T3) the control with extremes and lateral sides uncovered, each one with six repetitions. In each dryer, baskets containing 500g of parchment coffee 100% infested with coffee berry borer were placed. The ants had full access to T1 and T2, whereas the control was surrounded with grease to avoid their contact. During six days the ants predated 14,627 and 13,048 biological states of coffee berry borer in treatments 1 and 2, respectively, which correspond to 92.1% and 82.2% of the total
