| Abstract | Marmolina as a mineral inert material in the control of Hypothenemus hampei (Ferrari) (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) was evaluated during the conservation of coffee seeds. Evaluated parameters to estimate the treatments toxicity were: Percentage of mortality by Abbott's formula (1925), percentage of grain weight loss Pp = 100 (Ngd / Ntg) x C, effects of dust repellent IR = 2G / (G + P), and seed germination. An analysis of variance was used on statgraphics version 5.0 statistical package. For statistical analysis, all data were transformed into arcsin (x / 100) 0.5. The data obtained in the germination were subjected to analysis of variance with the unparametric Kruskal-Wallis test. According to the results were obtained 100% mortality values at 6 days, with doses of 0.46 g, 0.81g, 1.74 g. The marmolina is repellent to the insect with a value of 0.90 IR. The marmolina applied to seeds by the control of the coffee berry borer does not affect the germination of seeds stored for a period of 10 months. The insect attack grains was treated with marmolina it´s at 0.0% weight loss with 1.74 g. The concentrations used did not affect the germination of seeds coffee (Coffea arabica L.) being a period of 10 months conserved with marmolina. |
