| Abstract | In our research We had this as a problem. ¿What kind of relationship exists between emotional intelligence and self concept in the first semester students from the Tourism and Hotel Management School of the Cesar Vallejo University, Lima 2015? Also the goal was: To Determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and Self concept in the first semester students from the Tourism and Hotel Management School of the Cesar Vallejo University, Lima 2015. The kind of study was a basic one, framed on the quantitative focus. We worked with hypothetical method, it wasn’t an experimental design, of a descriptive correctional nature. On the other hand the study population from the Tourism and Hotel Management School of the Cesar Vallejo University was formed by 71 students, it is not a probabilistic sample. In the data recompilation it was used the tool to measure the emotional intelligence by Nelly Ugarriza and Liz Pajares (2001), the tool used for the Self concept variable is from author Garcia y Musitu (1999). Those tools were applied to the Tourism and Hotel Management first semester students, which were validated by three experts in that matter. The obtained results after prosecution and data analysis show us the following: there’s a direct relationship, meaning there’s a significant existence between emotional intelligence and self concept, in the Tourism and Hotel Management first semester students, 2015. For this data analysis, it was done with Spearman correlation (sig. Bilateral =.000<.01; Rho=.442**). |
