| Abstract | The purpose of this paper is to identify the motivations for consumer choices of organic foods. A qualitative and exploratory study was conducted at a Florianopolis supermarket. The initial question posed to consumers was “what leads you to choose organic foods?” The principal results are highlighted by the identification of the native categories of the consumers of these products, given that health concerns were the most mentioned. In addition, the complexity of the issue of consumption makes an interdisciplinary perspective essential for the analysis and interpretation of consumer behavior. |
