| Abstract | The present work is based on designing and building a system of acoustic boxes for the reproduction of low frequencies with cardioid emission based on electroacoustic, mechanical and subwoofer design theory analogies. One of the main objectives is to design the acoustic box with resonator to extend the low frequency response, in addition to analyze the performance of the acoustic boxes when configuring them in inverted gradient to get to design a cardioid system and have a better control in the directivity of the low frequencies. In practice, very satisfactory results were obtained with up to 27 dB of attenuation in the 180 Degrees of the array. To obtain these results, it is important to know the actual dimensions of the speakers to calculate the delay times necessary for the attenuations to be generated. According to the results found when performing the simulation of the equivalent circuits for the resonator box, the frequency response of the simulation versus the frequency response measured in practice is considerably similar, obtaining a resonance frequency for the 38 Hz resonator and in this way have better response at low frequencies. According to the results found, the configuration of subwoofers in inverted gradient works efficiently in a frequency range between 30 and 125 Hz, because the resonance frequency of the selected speaker is 40 Hz, the level in 25 Hz is considerably reduced compared to the 38 Hz generated by the resonator. It was decided to carry out this project in order to positively contribute to the community that works every day in the world of sound, specifically to sound rental companies and also to contribute with the development of new designs made in Ecuador. |
