Abstract	da Dissertacao de Mestrado submetida ao Programa de Pos-graduacao Interdisciplinar de Linguistica Aplicada, Faculdade de Letras, da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro UFRJ, como parte dos requisitos necessarios a obtencao do titulo de Mestre em Linguistica Aplicada. This research shows and analyzes an experience developed in the Polytechnical School of the Federal University of Rio De Janeiro, involving the use of the Moodle Tool in the support to the present education of disciplines Principles of Science of Materials in the sixth period of the graduation of the course of Engineering. The central objective of this work is to construct a reflection around the practice of pedagogy that was adopted in the case studied here, generating data and analyses capable to contribute for the improvement of not only the discipline studied, as well as to give subsidies for other professors who want to use virtual environments of learning as support to any kind of present education. To reach such objective the methodologies of case study and virtual etnografy where combined, throughout the research, interviews and comments not participant for the generation of the data had been carried through. When analyzing the data a qualitative analysis with elements of quantitative analysis was used, complemented by an analysis of the speech of the collective people. At the end, we consider that the experience was strictly related with the constructive theories that consider the interaction, either with the people or the object, premise for learning accomplishes.
