| Abstract | This research has been carried to find out the knowledge level of the tearchers working at the about child neglect and abuse in health vocational high schools. Within the scope of the research in Kayseri , we have conducted survey on teachers working at 5 private and 8 government schools. 85 of the 106 tearchers working at Private school and 155 0f 225 teachers working at Goverment School and included to the research. Inputs werw collected by way of 18 responsibility survey containing the sociodemographic specialities of the teachers and 17 child abusing and negligance and risk describing survey. The data were analyzed by unpaired t-test and one-way ANOVA test. The avarege age of the teachers included the research is 38.8 ±10.1 (23–62 years), %63.3 of the teachers are female and %72.9 are married. Avarage working years are 15.2±11.2 ( 1 – 42 years ). %40.0 of the tearchers joined to the research said to have been faced with the events about violence; %81.3 told that the source of the violence comes from the lack of education inside the family; %84.2 decline the heaviest type of the violence is the abusing. %15.0 of the teachers told that they had been educated on child abusing and negligance and %58.3 of them accepted that they have no knowledge about childabusing and the negligance and wanted to be educated. There aren’t seen any affects of the age, marriage status and branches of the teachers on their knowledge level about child abuse and negligance the female teachers avarege grades are higher than the male ones. |
