| Abstract | La sociedad contemporanea denominada “La era de la informacion y del conocimiento” evidencia complejidad en los ambitos industrial y tecnologico, asi como en la tendencia permanente a la mundializacion y globalizacion economica, politica, social y cultural; esto exige la utilizacion de habilidades y competencias tanto personales, como sociales y profesionales para lograr eficacia y eficiencia en el desempeno frente a los cambios continuos que exigen las necesidades actuales. La educacion, para estar a tono con el momento historico y contextual, requiere contemplar la apertura hacia las nuevas propuestas de cambio desde el punto de vista del desarrollo de la inteligencia emocional, para solucionar los problemas de la crisis social y afrontar los diversos desafios que presenta el entorno. Lo anterior exige una concienciacion del docente para que se apreste a revisar el curriculo e incluya las dimensiones referidas a la formacion de la inteligencia emocional de la persona. El estudio de los fundamentos de la neurociencia cognitiva de la personalidad esta directamente vinculado con la constante reparacion estabilizadora del medio interno, la alimentacion, la reproduccion, las respuestas defensivas de ataque y huida, las reacciones de agrado y desagrado, la activacion general y los ritmos endogenos.
