| Abstract | The project carried out shows the results about microbiological air quality in the emergency area of a second level public hospital in Engativá during the period from October 2018 to February 2019. The main objective was the characterization of bioaerosols through the identification of pathogenic microorganisms for health, then the risk that these species could generate with respect to nosocomial infections affecting patients, relatives and hospital staff was determined; contributing with the formulation of strategies in search of an improvement in air quality. The limits recommended by the WHO for bacteria and fungi were taken into account, as well as the environmental variables such as temperature, relative humidity and wind speed related to the concentrations in the different sampling points. Sampling was done using the Andersen impaction method using the MAS 100 Eco equipment, as a result 7 morphotypes were found, of which 2 are bacteria and 5 fungi; being the most frequent and exceeding the recommended concentrations, the areas of highest concentration and abundance of Rhizopus sp, Penicillium sp species were the waiting room, ICU and men women observation. |
