Abstract	This work presents the application of lean tools to reduce the economic impact of inventory shrinkage that Almacenes Corona S.A.S. makes monthly at the Ideo distribution center located in Cali and consequently, the operational management system improves. The development of this work is based on the DMAIC tool (Define, measure, analyze, improve and control) supports on different lean manufacturing tools to diagnose the management system, identify critical points, propose improvements and evaluate the impact in the operation, so the system is more effective and efficient. Initially, the logistics activities realized at the distribution center are identified in flowcharts or SIPOC diagrams and the activities that generate inventory shrinkage are qualitatively stablished with the help of the logistic employees. Therefore, data of the logistics processes is gathered to make it a statistical analysis and then to stablish quantitatively causes, volume and projection of inventory shrinkage just as the main point to attack. As a result of this analysis, lean manufacturing tools to reduce inventory shrinkage, the improved operational management system in a value stream mapping and performance indicators to measure efficacy and efficiency of the new system are proposed. Finally, this work presents costs to implement the proposal improvements and the earnings of implement them.
