Abstract	Anesthesiology is the medical science profession initially relieve pain and maintenance of patients before, during, and after surgery. Anesthesia is a branch of medical science, not only in Faculty Medicine, but also studied at the School of Nursing D-III level. This study aims to get a nurse who has a good knowledge of the science of anesthesiology and intensive therapy. This study uses a descriptive research with a cross-sectional study. The research was conducted in October 2012 at the Faculty of Nursing USU Medan. By using the method of sampling counsecutive, obtained a sample of 50 people who meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires, and conducted data processing and tabulation of results. Each value of the answers were analyzed and interpreted with the scale of measurement, ie either category (more than 75% of the highest value), enough (40 to 75% of the highest value), and less (less than 40% of the highest value). After conducting a study of 50 respondents, obtained the degree of students' knowledgei of Sciences of Anesthesiology and Intensive therapy, as many as 70% of respondents had a good knowledge level, 28% of respondents had sufficient knowledge level and 2% of the respondents have less knowledge. Overall the level of student knowledge of Anesthesiology and Intensive Therapy is good, however, need to be improved by better utilizing the available facilities, such as libraries and Internet access to obtain more information about the Anesthesiology and Intensive Therapy .
