| Abstract | St. Augustine of Hippo, in the method and philosophical content of his early literary production, primarily fruits of his Christian conversion, gives to the divina auctoritas Christi the preeminent role and indispensable guide for the human reason seeking the truth. Particularly in the De animae quantitate is shown that, in the process of philosophical inquiry, all auctoritas humana must yield to the reason that investigates, which meets always check the validity of its contents. These premises form the teacher-disciple relationship in the Augustinian pedagogical thought. |
