| Description | The exposure of these harmful particles in the atmosphere causes various chronic health diseases like respiratory infections and lung cancer etc. In order to overcome this issue, health experts promote the real-time monitoring of unfavorable situations occurring in the air, hence this is a concerning research topic as various methods are proposed to monitor the quality of air in the real-life scenario. Hence, this paper aims to present a systematic review of some of the Air quality monitoring (AQM) and purification system proposed in the last 3 years, utilizing different microcontroller sensor devices and the Internet of Things (IoT). This study aims to find the most favorable micro-controller device, reliable display technology, the most widely used storage system, and reliable communication technology used in AQM systems and through our proposed review which is found to be Arduino, smartphone apps, cloud servers, and ZigBee and Bluetooth respectively.
