| Description | The brain is the most dedicated part of our body and the highly complex structure of BBB, control the molecular movement of the compounds or other bioproducts from blood to the brain. The BBB not only protect the brain via regulating its homeostasis, but it also precludes drug delivery to the brain and blocks the therapies in several neurological disorders. The new molecular entities always go through harmful physiochemical and biopharmaceutical properties during large-scale development that may cause poor pharmacokinetics and distribution in the human. Therefore nanotechnology-based drug delivery system can consider as an intriguing tool to enhance drug transport in the brain without altering its therapeutic efficacy. In this chapter, the recently born nanotechnology-based drug delivery system and their application in neuronal disorders are described. This chapter also includes strategies for drug transport across the BBB, nanocarriers, and their structure modification, and globally marketed nanomedicine for CNS treatment. The main concept of this chapter is to summarize the potential application of nanotherapeutics in the treatment of CNS disorder and promote the research in this area.
