| Description | The purpose of this study is to clear up possibility of acoustic emission (AE) application in order to recieve information about the state of stress of the rock mass. For this aim memory effects in rocks, becoming apparent in recording acoustic signals in the process of loading and heating were stadied. Possibility of stress values restoration in rocks after a long period of time has been found out after their unloading. The behaviour peculiarities of the correlation index of highland low-amplitude impulses of acoustic emission in cyclic uniaxial loading are established. The method of the stress determining in a sample, which takes into account the differences between types of the state of stress (biaxial and hydrostatic)of a rock mass for laboratory tests, is being discussed. In view of the above it appears obvious the effectivness of the suggested methodology and good potential for practical use. Book Name: Mechanics of Jointed and Faulted Rock |
