| Description | It is possible to develop GPSS models of considerable complexity with only the concepts developed in Chapters 2 and 5. The advanced GPSS features covered in this chapter, however, provide additional flexibility so that more sophisticated models can be designed. So far, the use of system-supplied parameters has been limited to the built-in random number generators and transaction parameters. Access to many internal GPSS attributes, such as the current simulation time, and to attributes of model entities, such as the length of a queue, can be used to great advantage in a variety of modeling situations. These attributes and their use in model development are major topics of this chapter. The chapter also covers a number of additional GPSS blocks that are needed to develop complex models.
