Abstract	Ce chapitre de l’Étude économique de l’OCDE sur la République tchèque examine les évolutions économiques récentes et les principaux enjeux dans l’optique d’une croissance future durablement solide. La croissance s’est nettement accélérée depuis le début des années 2000 et permet à la République tchèque de progresser dans le rattrapage des autres économies de l’OCDE. Les exportations de produits manufacturés et les investissements directs étrangers continuent de jouer un rôle clé, qu’on analysera dans le chapitre 4, consacré à l’impact de la mondialisation sur l’économie tchèque. Jusqu’à présent, le rythme rapide de l’activité économique n’a pas fait monter l’inflation tendancielle. Malgré tout, la hausse des prix à la consommation s’accélère sous l’effet des évolutions enregistrées sur les marchés internationaux et d’un certain nombre de mesures de politique économique, en particulier une hausse de la fiscalité indirecte. Bien que le déficit des administrations publiques ait été inférieur l’an dernier au niveau exigé pour entrer dans la zone euro, la viabilité des finances publiques reste un enjeu essentiel, qui sera analysé dans le chapitre 2. Accroître l’offre de main-d’oeuvre et améliorer les qualifications est un autre enjeu, abordé dans le chapitre 3. Dans les dernières sections du présent chapitre, on s’attachera plus particulièrement aux développements les plus récents concernant trois domaines : les entreprises, la concurrence et l’environnement.
