| Abstract | Les conditions de logement sont déterminées par un grand nombre de facteurs, tels que les ressources financières et la taille de la famille. Les conditions de logement des immigrés dépendent également de certaines circonstances, y compris de leur catégorie d’entrée.Les immigrés qui arrivent pour rejoindre un membre de leur famille sont supposés bénéficier dès leur entrée d’un logement adapté, étant donné que les procédures de regroupement familial sont dans la plupart des pays assorties de conditions de ressources, de surface et/ou de nombre de pièces disponibles. À l’inverse, ceux arrivés dans d’autres conditions n’ont parfois pas les moyens financiers ni le temps de trouver un logement décent. Les lois du marché – prix de l’immobilier et normes des logements disponibles à ces prix – restreignent le choix des logements disponibles pour les immigrés qui disposent, en moyenne, de revenus plus faibles. Enfin, le risque d’accéder à un logement de mauvaise qualité est d’autant plus grand chez les immigrés qu’ils ont parfois une certaine méconnaissance du fonctionnement du marché locatif, et qu’ils éprouvent plus de difficultés à accéder au crédit. Ils peuvent également être victimes de discrimination par les propriétaires. Les allocations de logement et l’octroi de logements sociaux peuvent être également un moyen d’accéder à des logements plus grands et de meilleure qualité, mais les ménages immigrés dans le besoin ne sont pas nécessairement admissibles à ces aides et les demandes peuvent prendre un certain temps avant que les nouveaux arrivants puissent en bénéficier.Quatre indicateurs sur le logement sont présentés dans ce chapitre : le mode d’occupation (), le niveau de surpeuplement (), les conditions plus générales de logement () ainsi que son coût (). National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI provides user group-specific services such as Examination Preparatory for School and College students and job aspirants. Services for Researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
