Abstract	In this paper we address the issue of identifying the profile of researchers and measure their reputation. We propose a comprehensive and adaptive approach supported by a profile model and a metric for identifying scientific reputation. The profile model involves elements of the scientific trajectory of a researcher built throughout his career. We show, through experiments, that our approach is strongly correlated with the results of h-index and g-index. To validate our approach we used Spearman's rank correlation coefficient to compare 404 Brazilian researchers of Computer Science of the National Research Council (CNPq) who have research scholarships.
