Abstract	We report in this paper the design of assistance applications to actors of design process which we call micro-tools. The microtools are well adapted to instrument the co-operative activities integrated in virtual spaces of the design. Those can be integrated on a multi-agent platform (PLACID) adapted to the innovating and distributed design mechanical systems. The use of the agent paradigm as well relates to the modeling and the development of the various layers of the platform, that those of the user interfaces. We insist in particular on the concept of micro-tool, its agent design and the integration process of this one in PLACID
