| Abstract | Discusses wireless power transmission (WPT) by a focused power microwave beam through the Earth's atmosphere for power supply of spacecraft from the Earth or for power supply of loads placed on the Earth's surface from space. As known, in the Earth's atmosphere on frequency ranges of 35-38 GHz and 80-100 GHz there are so-called "radio windows" which would be appropriate for the WPT from the point of view of sizes and mass of a space transmitting or receiving antenna. Electromagnetic radiation with millimeter and submillimeter wavelength is widely used for heating plasma in experiments of the control of thermonuclear synthesis. From the comparative analysis of technical parameters of different modern electron vacuum microwave generators of the millimeter and submillimeter wavelength ranges it may be deduced that a gyrotron is one of the most perspective among them. Plasma-beam microwave systems using plasma-beam instability are perspective too as millimeter and submillimeter microwave generators. The source of microwave energy in the above mentioned types of microwave generators is electron beam energy and this circumstance limits, first of all, the value of output microwave power and efficiency of-these microwave generators. The alternative way to generate microwave radiation in the millimeter and submillimeter wavelength ranges is the direct conversion of plasma stream energy to monochromatic microwave radiation through a deceleration of a plasma stream in a transverse magnetic field. This microwave system is termed the plasma electromagnetic generator. |

It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
