Abstract	We have experimentally studied various circuit elements in the 110-130 GHz frequency band based on dielectric image lines (DIL) that are optically controlled by IR illumination. Dielectric antennas and filters are formed by coupling the DIL to dielectric resonator pucks (DRs). IR sensitive n-type GaAs semiconductor materials are utilized and have a doping concentration of n = 2.4 /spl times/ 10/sup 18/ cm/sup -3/, resistance /spl rho/ = 10/sup 7/ /spl Omega//cm, and mobility /spl mu/ = 8500 cm/sup 2//v.s. DIL lines are excited in the dominant mode E/sub y//sup 11/, and their time response is in the range of 10/sup -7/ s. Predicted and measured input reflection and transmission coefficients of these components are presented here in details.
