Abstract | The numerical simulation of two-phase flow heat transfer of the dual-coolant waste transmutation blanket for the FDS-I are studied using the computational fluid dynamics FLUENT code. The Eulerian-Eulerian model has been used taking into account fuel particle distribution, variability of viscosity, and velocity slippage between phases. The energy equations are modified to describe the unique characteristics of the two-phase flow. The fuel particle volume fraction and temperature distribution are calculated. The correlations between fuel temperature and particle size and power density have been established as a reference to the fuel particle design and the safety analysis of fuel particle circulation. The results demonstrate the newly-developed approaches for numerical simulation can benefit the thermal-hydraulic analyses of the liquid breeder blanket. |

It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
