Abstract	The net-Trials/sup TM/ clinical trials information system is an integrated data management system for collecting and reporting data on clinical trials sponsored by the National Cancer Institute's (NCI's) Center for Cancer Research (CCR). The development and implementation of net-Trials is an ongoing process, with the expectation that all functions will be implemented within the next two to three years. As an enabler of clinical research, net-Trials replaces the many stand-alone data management systems used in the past with a single system which is accessible at any time from anywhere. net-Trials offers numerous benefits to cancer researchers, physicians and patients, because it unifies systems, processes and data to facilitate clinical trial participation. net-Trials users collaborate by transmitting and receiving clinical trials data from a secure central database.
