Abstract	This paper presents a new method which combines the time stepping finite element method (TS-FEM) with the Preisach hysteresis model (PHM) to analysis a new class of flux controllable permanent magnet (PM) machines. The proposed scheme can find consistent states for different history of external applied field sources with more easily numerical implementation. An existing novel doubly salient PM mnemonic motor whose magnets adopt aluminum nickel cobalt (AlNiCo) alloy is analyzed. Both simulation and experiments are performed to verify the validity of the proposed method.
