| Abstract | At the Wuhan National High Magnetic Field Center (WHMFC) a 50 T/100 ms flat-top long-pulse magnet consisting of two coaxially nested coils is designed. The power and energy to operate the magnet is provided by a 100 MVA/185 MJ inertial energy storage motor-generator set. To accommodate the needs of this and future magnets, two 67.5 MW power supply modules based on 12-pulse converters are designed to convert the ac-power produced by the generator into controlled dc-power. The modules can operate independently as well as in parallel or in series. Each module consists of a combined input disconnect/grounding switch, two rectifier transformers, two parallel-connected 6-pulse rectifiers, a crowbar circuit, and a reversing switch. Two different transformer tap settings allow the module to provide no-load voltages of 3.2 kV and 2.7 kV and full-load voltages of 2.7 kV and 2.25 kV at the rated current of 25 kA for a 2 second pulse once every half hour. All components of the power supply modules are now under construction, with complete delivery and installation expected in early 2012. The design of the power supply components is described in detail. Digital simulation results of the power supply driving the 50 T/100 ms magnet are presented. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI provides user group-specific services such as Examination Preparatory for School and College students and job aspirants. Services for Researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
