Description | Four panel comic strip shows Terry turning on the radio to band music. Burma, the warm-hearted but slightly tarnished blonde, suggests they dance. Terry demurs, but Burma retorts, "A girl can't dance alone! -- Gotta have a man!" Terry is shocked and flattered to be called a man, but when he treads on Burma's toes, she suggests they listen to something "dreamy" instead. Terry and the Pirates was an adventure strip begun in 1934 featuring Terry, a teenage boy, and his older friends in China. Terry began to mature as the strip continued and he served in the military in the 1940s. |
