| Description | Among the images are naval battle scenes from the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812, including views of the battle between the USF Constitution and the Guerriere, the battle of Lake Eire, including a double-page spread depicting "Commodore Perry's Victory" from Ballou's Pictorial Drawing-Room Companion. Also from Ballou's is a "Comprehensive Representation of all the Sailing Vessels and Steamships in the United States Navy." Also includes a Harper's Weekly supplement on "Ship-Building on the Delaware", a single sheet of music for "Commodore Winslows Grand Victory March", a color halftone reproduction showing "The Battle of Manila Bay", an advertisement for Delaware River and Bay excursions on the "Thomas Clyde" and the "Major Reybold", an invitation to "Dinner to Commodore R.F. Stockton at The Musical Fund Hall Thursday, December 30, 1847", and a series of 10 "Colourpicture Publication" postcards depicting the USF Constitution. |
