Headnote | Election Laws – State Election Commission issued notificationsfor panchayat elections – Petitioner, a political party alleged thatits candidates were not allowed to collect and submit the nominationforms, on account of violent resistance by supporters of the rulingparty – Petitioner sought directions to the State Election Commissionto issue nomination papers on internet so that candidates of thepetitioner could apply through e-mail – Held: In Bodula Krishnaiahcase it was held that once the election process has been set in motion,the Court ought not to interfere – In instant case, election processhas been set into motion, therefore the Court not inclined to interfere– Furthermore, the West Bengal Panchayat Elections Act empowersthe State Election Commissioner to pass appropriate orders in relationto any grievance, when made by any political party, or/and theirindividual candidate including any independent candidate withregard to any matter relating to and arising out of the election andelection process – Therefore, all political parties, their candidates,including any independent candidate/s proposing to contest theelection in question, are granted liberty to approach the State ElectionCommissioner with their any individual or/and collective grievance– State Election Commissioner to ensure disposal of any suchgrievance so made by the party concerned strictly in accordancewith law forthwith – West Bengal Panchayat Elections Act, 2003 –Constitution of India – Art.32. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI provides user group-specific services such as Examination Preparatory for School and College students and job aspirants. Services for Researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
